Defiant Nancy insists he is not worried about being fired however Celtic fans unleash anger following derby defeat.
The under-pressure manager stated he had no concerns about dismissal, maintaining, “We are extremely close to changing our fortunes,” despite edging perilously close to being fired with a heavy setback against the Ibrox side.
A Second-Half Meltdown Results in Old Firm Defeat
The home side were ahead Rangers at the interval but a second-half capitulation enabled Danny Röhl’s team to draw level on points with the defending league title holders. The former MLS manager, who was appointed from Columbus Crew, has now overseen six losses in his first eight fixtures.

“It’s the results [that leads to pressure]. And that’s the truth for the moment. Yet when I say that’s how it is, I am not saying that I am pessimistic. Not at all. My point is the turnaround is near, really, really close to change the narrative.”
Focus on the Details
Nancy highlights the fact his team can perform strongly for one half at a time. In fact, but for poor finishing they could have been better than 1-0 up. “There were positives other than the fact that we missed our chances,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but I must remain balanced.
“The standard we had at certain moments was of top quality. That happened. I could not say that if it was different. But that’s why, regarding outcomes, I said this is the same story. That’s why I said that we are nearly there to getting it right. But for the moment: details, details, details.”
“There were many, many good things that we did, as was the case today. However it’s about consistency. My narrative would not be the same. This is why I am convinced we will manage to fix this.”
The Rangers Boss Stance
Rangers manager was cautious about a championship push even after what felt like a landmark win. “We take it game by game, and we can really build up momentum,” he said. “The confidence in the squad is excellent.”
